With his debut short story collection, Josh Baines paints a portrait of an American dream in turmoil. Nominally based on the imagined private lives of publicly known personas, he uses Swimming pools, Chris brown's dick, the search for the perfect sandwich, bowling balls, memory, loss, isolation, Katy Perry and bottles of Evian to explore what it means to surrender any sense of self to the overarching machinations of popular culture in the twenty first century.
